Unprecedented Oil Spill – Not Exactly!
I really feel for those unfortunate people on the Gulf coast. This recent catastrophe in the Gulf is awful. The worst part of the whole thing is it should NEVER have gotten this bad. Accidents happen… ok. Stuff blows up. I get it. But PLEASE stop telling us it’s an “Unprecedented Oil Spill.” It’s nothing of the sort. As a matter of fact the EXACT thing happen back in 1979. You read that correctly, I said the EXACT same thing over 30 years ago! Watch the following Rachel Maddow video and tell me you aren’t pissed off. Yes, it’s easy to point the finger at BP. But let’s remember they’re not the only one’s responsible for this oil spill. We also need to hold Haliburton, TransOcean and the federal regulators accountable. Now tell me why the regulators couldn’t just set a new rule that when you drill for oil, you have to also drill 2 relief wells at the same time, just in case they’re needed, LIKE NOW!? Someone was getting paid really well to look the other way huh?
